Thrifty Car Rental Franchises 7 New Territories With Three New In-Terminal Airport Locations & 4 New Suburban Markets

    TULSA, Okla., March 7 Thrifty Car Rental continues its
aggressive expansion in the U.S. with the sale of seven new franchised
territories in the last three months.
    As a result, Thrifty recently opened suburban market locations in Ottawa,
IL, Morris, IL, Clayton, NC and Newburgh, NY.
    The company also continued its growth in the airport market by opening new
in-terminal locations in Waco, TX, Springfield/Branson, MO and Kearney, NE.
    According to Jeff Bevis, Staff Vice President for Franchise Sales, as
Thrifty looks to continue its worldwide expansion, the addition of key U.S.
markets to the Thrifty franchise portfolio remains a high priority for the
company.
    "In 1999, we added 28 new markets representing at least 49 new locations
in the U.S., which also added to our existing fleet levels by approximately
4,000 vehicles," said Bevis.  "We expect to have another outstanding year as
we plan for sustained U.S. expansion.  The Thrifty brand continues to be an
attractive franchise opportunity for entrepreneurs both large and small."
    Thrifty opened its in-terminal location at the Springfield/Branson
Regional airport last month.  Branson, one of the nation's top tourist
attractions, is only a 30-minute drive from the airport.
    The company also opened an in-terminal location at the Kearney Municipal
Airport in Nebraska.   Airport traffic doubled recently when United Express
began providing commuter service to the airport.   The location serves
government and university customers as well as a rapidly growing number of
corporate clients.
    Thrifty also recently opened an in-terminal location at the Waco Regional
Airport.
