Isuzu Commercial Vehicles Division Has Record February Sales Performance

    CERRITOS, Calif., March 6 American Isuzu Motors Inc.
(AIMI) announces the most successful February commercial vehicle retail sales
performance in the company's history.  The record setting February numbers
pushed AIMI's commercial vehicle division's year-to-date sales figures to a
38% increase over 1999's year-to-date numbers.
    The NPR diesel and NPR diesel H.D. Class 3-4 trucks maintained their
strong industry position with an impressive February sales performance of
1387 vehicles, producing a 72% increase over the 1999 year-to-date figures.
The NQR and FRR models continue to make their presence felt in the competitive
Class-5 segment achieving 67% and 66% increases respectively over 1999
year-to date figures.  The Isuzu Class 6-7 F-Series trucks also continue to
increase in sales with all three models, (FSR, FTR, & FVR) having impressive
months combining to produce a 39% increase over 1999 year-to-date sales
figures.
