PPG Neon Charity Challenge Welcomes Yazaki as Sponsor

6 March 2000

PPG Neon Charity Challenge Welcomes Yazaki North America As Presenting Sponsor for the 2000 Season

CANTON, Mich., March 6 Yazaki North America, Inc. (YNA) is
returning for its second season to the 2000 PPG Neon Charity Challenge
competition. This year, YNA is revving up its level of support, and is now a
presenting sponsor, according to the DaimlerChrysler Motorsport's department
and PPG, who made the announcement today.
DaimlerChrysler's Bill Tracy, senior manager of Motorsports and
Performance parts marketing, welcomes the addition of Yazaki, saying that
YNA's involvement will benefit the Charity Challenge in three ways:

-- It provides additional capital to help create a new fund-raising event
for the Police Athletic League (PAL) in the form of a charity auction held on
the eve of the Detroit Grand Prix on Friday, June 16, 2000.

-- It provides additional prize funds that support more than 6,000 Neon
amateur racers who compete in hundreds of races across the country each year,
thus strengthening the sport for the future.

-- It raises the overall quality and awareness of the Neon Charity
Challenge Program.

"Yazaki North America has a tradition of supporting causes that contribute
to the youth of our region," said Tracy. "As part of the Neon Charity
Challenge, YNA is joining one of the most charitable events in the motorsports
industry."
The Charity Challenge, one of the most highly visible grassroots racing
programs in United States, has raised more than $1 million from 1994-99.
