American Isuzu Motors Inc. Announces 35% Increase in Core Model February SalesFresh Styling and a Great Technical Package Backed by a 10-year/120,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty Continues to Make Isuzu SUVs a Compelling Buy CERRITOS, Calif., March 6 American Isuzu Motors Inc. announced today an impressive 35% sales increase, this February compared to last, of its core SUV models: Trooper, Rodeo, and Amigo. The monthly sales statistics back up an outstanding year-to-date increase of 28% for core model performance. Trooper, one of the world's premier luxury SUVs had its best February ever. Trooper sales shot up 84% this February over the same month a year ago with year-to-date volume up 67% compared with 1999. Amigo came on very strong in February. In fact, February was the best month ever for this tough Sport-ute. With 1,547 units sold, its sales for the month compared to last year are up an exceptional 60% and for the year 37%. Rodeo, American Isuzu Motors Inc.'s best selling model continued in its rock-solid selling performance. Rodeo closed out the month with a respectable 14% increase over February of the previous year and showed a excellent 15% increase in year-to-date sales compared with last year. "We're having a great year and February's performance is making it even better," said Bob Reilly, vice president, COO, SUV. "Our 10-year 120,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty continues to influence SUV consumers in a positive way. We look forward to this trend continuing as we enter the traditionally strong spring season." Sales performance for the entire line up, boasted a 15% increase in February compared to the previous year. This is the best total sales performance for the company since February 1994. And compared with figures for last year, sales of Trooper, Rodeo, Amigo, Hombre, and VehiCROSS are up an impressive 8%.
