FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FLEMING CAPTURES SEASON-OPENER PRO SPEC RACER POLE PHOENIX, Ariz.(March 4, 2000) - Lee Fleming, of Lakeforest, Calif., took the pole for Saturday's season-opener Pro Spec Racer race at Phoenix International Raceway. Neil Tilbor, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and Carl Harris, of Houston, Texas rounded out the top three. Under sunny but breezy conditions, Fleming driving the No. 07 Win Spec Racing Spec Racer led the entire session setting a new qualifying record with a time 1:10.577 (127.52 mph). "I was able to get a clean lap midway through the session," said Fleming. "I'm glad I got the pole. The combination of a lot of new drivers and the track being slick means that starting in front could be a key to winning the race." Tilbor, driving the No. 8 Tilbor & Marketing Spec Racer ran a quick lap of 1:10.822 (127.09 mph) late in the session to start second. Starting third is Harris in the No. 69 Four Seasons Radiator Spec Racer with a time of 1:10.840 (127.04 mph).
