Sponsors step up to support American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation 2000 Daytona Breakfast
4 March 2000
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- Great food, great motorcycling stories and a great feeling of pride are three things you'll get at the 12th Annual American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation (AMHF) Daytona Breakfast, set for 8 a.m., March 11, at the Holiday Inn in De Land, Fla., featuring legendary racer Carroll Resweber. The Daytona Breakfast was established to give classic motorcycle and racing enthusiasts the opportunity to meet and share experiences while supporting the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, in Pickerington, Ohio. All proceeds from the event support the Museum. The fund-raising breakfast is made possible with the support of its primary sponsor, the Chief Blackhawk Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, returning as one of the event's main sponsors for the seventh time. Many other groups have stepped up to support the popular breakfast. This year's Friendship Sponsors are David Mungenast MotorSports of St. Louis, Mo., and Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum Development Board member and long-time supporter Len Puckett of Daytona Beach, Fla. Mungenast is a prominent supporter of the Museum and a development board member, with his dealership listed as a Gold Level sponsor in the newly introduced AMHF Dealer Support Program. Other supporters include Fellowship Sponsors J & P Cycles, of Anamosa, Iowa, and owner John Parham; Piet Boonstra of Buchanan, N.Y., in loving memory of his wife Lillian; and Howard Dusenbery of Columbia, Md. All three Fellowship Sponsors are development board members and long-time Museum contributors. The AMHF also provides a way for individual donors to support the Museum as an Associate Sponsorship with a donation of $25 or more. And as of March 1, nearly 100 Associate Sponsors were committed for the Daytona Breakfast. This year's breakfast will be highlighted by keynote speaker Resweber, who dominated the flat tracks of America in the late '50s and early '60s as a factory Harley-Davidson pilot, winning four-consecutive Grand National titles from 1958-1961. Tickets to the Daytona Breakfast are still available for $15 at the door, and associate sponsorships starting at $25, are welcome as well. The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, operated by the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, is located on the same campus location as American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) headquarters, 13515 Yarmouth Dr., Pickerington, Ohio. The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Weekend hours, March through October, are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (614) 856-1900 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, or visit the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum website at www.motorcyclemuseum.org.
