Johnson Controls Receives Toyota Award

    MILWAUKEE--Johnson Controls, North America's largest battery manufacturer, 
has received Toyota's Excellent Delivery Performance Award for the eighth 
consecutive year.  The award was presented yesterday at Toyota's Annual Supplier 
Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony in Cincinnati.

    Johnson Controls was recognized for its 100 percent on-time-delivery and
order fulfillment for original equipment batteries it supplies for Toyota's
North American-built vehicles.  These batteries are manufactured for Toyota in
the Johnson Controls Toledo, Ohio plant.

    "While Toyota battery orders have increased each year, Johnson Controls
has continued its perfect fulfillment record.  This award reflects our
employees' commitment to service and quality," said Doug Brown, vice president
of sales, Battery Automotive Systems Group.
