Transmission Technologies Corporation Knoxville Facility Earns ISO 9001 / QS-9000 Registration

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., March 3 TTC, today announced that
its Knoxville, TN manufacturing facility has earned QS-9000 Registration form
Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL).
The ISO 9000 series Standards are internationally recognized quality
management system requirements developed by the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO). ISO 9001, the most comprehensive Standard in the ISO
9000 series, covers design, manufacturing, installation and servicing systems.
The QS-9000 Standard is required by the Automotive Industry Action Group and
customers.
TTC began the registration process in 1999. As part of the process, UL
performed an on-site assessment, examination of documented procedures, and a
survey of the company's overall operations. To determine continued compliance
with QS-9000, UL will periodically conduct routine surveillance audits of
TTC's operations.
"We're very pleased that our Knoxville facility received its QS-9000
registration today. All of our facilities are now ISO 9001/QS-9000
registered," said Lee Davis, Vice President, and General Manager TTC.
"Preparing for, and earning the registration has helped raise the level of
discipline within our organization. Consequently, every process is now well
documented, which ultimately improves our efficiency and quality benefiting
our customers," Mr. Davis adds.
"Earning the QS-9000 registration took a team effort and I congratulate
all of our employees for a job well done. We must maintain our focus and
strive for continuous improvement in order to maintain our registration
status," said Howard Loveless, Knoxville Plant Manager.
