Dollar Rent A Car to Purchase Texas Locations

    TULSA, Okla., March 2 -- Dollar Rent A Car, a subsidiary of
Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. , today announced it has
agreed to purchase all of the DOLLAR(R) locations in state of Texas currently
operated by its licensee, JFC Automotive Rental Group, L.L.C., for an
undisclosed price.
    Dollar will acquire JFC's seven in-terminal locations at the airports
serving San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Brownsville/South Padre Island,
Harlingen, McAllen, Midland and Abilene.  In addition, nine other rental
locations situated in these cities, including two city locations in San
Antonio, are included in the transaction.  The acquisition includes the
franchise rights and fixed assets, and is scheduled to close on
March 13, 2000, subject to certain conditions.
    After the closing of the Texas transaction, JFC will continue to operate
its current rental car operations as a DOLLAR licensee in the state of
Colorado, including its locations in Colorado Springs and Vail.
    "San Antonio is a key leisure destination in the state of Texas, and its
inclusion in this multi-location purchase is consistent with our continuing
strategy to be a corporate presence in the top 50 U.S. markets," Gary Paxton,
Dollar President, said.  "In addition, the acquisition of DOLLAR locations in
the growing Rio Grande Valley and south Texas coast complements not only the
presence of Dollar's corporate-owned locations in Dallas and Houston, as
enhanced by San Antonio, but also more than 100 corporately-owned DOLLAR
locations in the United States."

and Latin America, including 260 locations in the United States.  The company
