BMW Reports Record February Sales; BMW Year-To-Date Sales Up 23 Percent
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., March 2 -- BMW of North America, Inc.
reported record February sales of 13,793 vehicles, compared to 11,146 sold a
year ago, an increase of 24 percent. Year-to-date vehicle sales increased 23
percent to 26,273 compared to 21,281 in 1999.
February sales of BMW automobiles increased 14 percent, to 12,715 compared
to 11,146 last year. Year-to-date automobile sales increased 14 percent, to
24,359, compared to 21,281 in 1999.
The company also reported sales of 1,078 BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicles
in February and year-to-date sales of 1,914 SAVs.
Sales were strong across all model lines, with a 28 percent increase in 5
Series models and a 25 percent increase in Z Series sales.
Sales of Certified Pre-owned (CPO) BMWs were stronger than ever in February.
BMW reported sales of 3,226 automobiles, an increase of 122 percent over a
year ago, when 1,453 pre-owned models were sold. Year-to-date CPO sales are
6,196, an increase of 143 percent, compared to year-to-date sales of 2,554 a
year ago.
