MSC.Software Announces New CAD-Specific Products

    SAN MATEO, Calif.--March 1, 2000--MSC.Working Knowledge, a division of MSC.Software Corporation ("MSC"), the world's leading developer of simulation software, today announced four new visualNastran Desktop family members.
    They are visualNastran 4D for Inventor, visualNastran 4D for Mechanical Desktop, visualNastran 4D for SolidWorks and visualNastran 4D for Solid Edge. The new products will act and feel like their host CAD system and will be sold exclusively through CAD reseller networks.
    "These products will increase the business opportunities available to our reseller channel," said Frank Perna, chairman and CEO, MSC.Software Corp. "The visualNastran Desktop family enables their customers to use the world's leading simulation technology through a familiar CAD user interface."
    The new products are intended for sale by the CAD reseller network specializing in each CAD system. For example, visualNastran 4D for Inventor will be sold only through Autodesk resellers, visualNastran 4D for SolidWorks will be sold only through SolidWorks resellers, etc. Currently supported CAD systems are Autodesk Inventor, Mechanical Desktop, SolidWorks and Solid Edge.

--   visualNastran View is a low-cost viewer that enables access to a
     long list of CAD/CAE and graphic formats, which include
     MSC.Nastran XDB.
