Audi of America Sales Up 60.2 Percent -- Best February Ever

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 1 -- Audi of America set an all-
time sales record for the best February ever in the company's history with
5,730 sales, up 60.2 percent over last year's results of 3,576.
    With sales of 2,645, Audi's mid-size A6 led the successful month with an
increase of 52 percent over February, 1999.  Also, Audi enjoyed a sizable
increase from its A4 with 2,429 sold, an increase of 43.6 percent.
    Sales in February for the A8 were 184, an increase of 33.3 percent over
last year's total of 138.  TT sales of 471 also contributed to Audi's record
February.
    Last month, Audi of America reported a best-ever sales January with 6,185
vehicles sold, an 80.1 percent increase, and bringing the year-to-date total
to 11,915, an increase of 69.9 percent over last year's mark of 7,011.
