Ford Announces HR Executive DirectorDEARBORN, Mich., March 1 -- Ford Motor Company announced today the appointment of Joe W. Laymon as executive director, Human Resources Business Operations. Laymon, 47, comes from Eastman Kodak Company where he served four years as director and vice president of Human Resources, Consumer Imaging, for the United States, Canada and other worldwide regions. Prior to that, Laymon spent 17 years at Xerox Corporation in a number of senior human resources positions. He also worked for the U.S. State Department with assignments in Zaire and Washington D.C. "We are delighted to have Joe join our leadership team at Ford Motor Company," said David L. Murphy, Ford vice president, Human Resources. "Joe brings extensive background in all human resource disciplines. He is a great addition to our team." Laymon is an active board member of numerous organizations, including the Douglas A. Fraser Center for Workplace Issues, National Technical Institute for the Deaf at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Otetiana Council Boy Scouts of America. He also is a member of the National Urban League and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Laymon, a native of Enterprise, Miss., holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor of science in economics and accounting from Jackson State University. He and his wife, Dianne, have three children.
