American Axle & Manufacturing Unveils New SAE Display (Booth #2163)
DETROIT, March 1 -- American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings,
Inc. invites all 2000 SAE Congress visitors to stop by our
brand-new product and technology display. The display highlights the
company's advanced product, process and systems technology while showcasing
its latest forging and driveline innovations.
The American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) display -- booth #2163 -- was
completely redesigned to kick off the new millennium. It resembles a modern
assembly line, incorporating the look of AAM's world-class manufacturing
operations with the feel of the company's flexible, technologically advanced
environment.
Visitors can view a nine-screen video wall and participate in interactive
kiosks that highlight AAM's capabilities in systems and technology. The
display includes a sampling of the components, systems and modules that make
up the entire driveline the company provides for its customers around the
globe. The display is the latest extension of AAM's new "Delivering. Power."
advertising campaign theme through the use of two-word phrases that describe
the company's capabilities.
Products on display will include AAM's independent-rear-drive module,
brand-new 11.5-inch rear axle, lightweight aluminum rear axle, commercial-size
crankshaft (a new product, added through AAM's 1998 acquisition of Albion
Automotive), and its current-generation steering linkage (a 2000 PACE award
finalist). Some of the many AAM capabilities that will be highlighted and
demonstrated include noise, vibration, and harshness testing; advanced metal-
forming technologies; thermal management advancements; metallurgy
technologies; and AAM's extensive product testing and validation capabilities.
AAM is a world leader in the manufacture, engineering and design of
driveline systems, chassis systems and forged products for trucks, buses,
sport utility vehicles, and passenger cars. In addition to 13 locations in
the United States (in Michigan, Ohio and New York), AAM has offices and
facilities in Brazil, England, Germany, Japan, Mexico and Scotland.
