Harmon AutoGlass Names New President

MINNEAPOLIS--Feb. 29, 2000--Harmon AutoGlass announced today that Barbara Fitzgerald has been named president of the company effective immediately.
A 26-year veteran in retail, Fitzgerald's first 24 years were with Sears, where she held positions in store, district, field, staff support, operations management, and strategic planning. Prior to leaving, Fitzgerald served as vice president and general manager, Sears Hardware Stores.
In 1997, Fitzgerald moved to Toys "R" US to assume the position of vice president and general manager. She was promoted to vice president, People Development in 1999, responsible for defining the company's customer service culture and leading the development of employee training programs.
"Barbara's retail experience is broad and deep," said Joe Deckman, executive vice president, Glass Services Segment, Apogee. "Her transition to Harmon will be natural because of her field experience and customer service focus. In addition, her proven strengths in strategic business planning will be an asset as we continue to define the shape of our future business."
Harmon AutoGlass is a subsidiary of the Minneapolis-based Apogee Enterprises, Inc., a leader in the fabrication, installation and distribution of glass and aluminum for the construction, automotive and consumer markets. In the fiscal year ended March 1, 1999, Apogee reported consolidated sales of $793 million.
