Amerigon Ships 10,000th Climate Control Seat System
Achieves Significant Milestone With Lincoln Navigator; Positioned
To Meet Increasing Demand for CCS Systems

IRWINDALE, Calif., Feb. 29 -- Amerigon Incorporated
announced today the shipment of its 10,000th proprietary
Climate Control Seat (CCS(TM)) System for vehicle driver and front passenger
seats since it first began commercial shipments in late November of last year.
According to Amerigon President and CEO Richard A. Weisbart, the shipment was
made as part of the Company's first commercial application of CCS for Lincoln
Mercury of Ford Motor Company in the 2000 model year Lincoln
Navigator Sports Utility Vehicle. CCS is an option on the Navigator and is
the only product on the market today that makes it possible for both the
driver and front seat passenger of a vehicle to individually and actively
control the warming and/or cooling of their respective seat for year-round
comfort.
Weisbart commented, "We reached this important milestone sooner than
expected, and are well-positioned to meet the increasing demand for our CCS
system in the Lincoln Navigator. The Company has the manufacturing capability
in place to not only handle the demand for CCS in the Navigator, but is also
well-positioned to supply CCS systems for the future automotive platforms we
see being solidified over the next 12 months. We are continuing to
aggressively market CCS to more than 20 other automotive platforms and their
seat suppliers worldwide."
Amerigon announced in January that it reached a nonbinding agreement in
principle with Ford Motor Company, whereby Ford will exclusively use
Amerigon's proprietary CCS system for heated and cooled or heated and
ventilated seats for a period of five years.

Amerigon, an emerging player in the global automotive industry, develops
and markets proprietary products for automotive OEMs. In addition to the
Climate Control Seat (CCS) technology, the Company's products include the
AmeriGuard(TM) radar sensing system, designed to extend the driver's field of
view in such vehicle applications as enhanced parking aids, back-up warning
systems and side object detection.

Certain matters discussed in this release, including the Company's ability
to handle demand for its CCS systems, are forward-looking statements that
involve risks and uncertainties, and actual results may be different. Such
risks and uncertainties include the acceptance and performance of the
Company's products, the Company's ability to develop new products successfully
and the ability to obtain new sources of financing. Please also refer to the
Company's Securities and Exchange Commission reports, including but not
limited to the Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 1998 and the Form
10-Q for the quarter ended September 30, 1999.
