Accompany Introduces Group Buying for Autos
Accompany Launches Promotional Buy-Cycle for the 'Best Selling Car in America'
Across Its Get It Together Network(SM) of Web Communities

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Feb. 28 -- Accompany, Inc.,
( http://www.accompany.com ) a pioneer in group buying on the Web, today
announced that it is offering a unique promotion to bring automobile "fleet"
pricing to consumers for the first time. Accompany is launching a special
Buy-Cycle(SM) for the "best selling car in America," the Toyota Camry, in
conjunction with Torrance Toyota in Torrance, CA and Piercey Toyota in
San Jose, CA. This first-ever automotive group buy in the U.S. will feature
ten Toyota Camry 2000 LEs at extremely aggressive prices and will be promoted
across Accompany's Get It Together Network of over 20 partner sites. This
Buy-Cycle marks the launch of Accompany's automotive category and solidifies
Accompany's role as an innovator in the group buying revolution.
Accompany pools consumer purchasing power across its network of Web
community partners (such as About.com and Deja.com) to obtain volume pricing
from its supplier partners (such as Xerox and Replay Networks). Accompany
transparently groups Web consumers into Buy-Cycles to purchase a variety of
products.
Accompany gives individuals and small businesses access to the same type
of volume or fleet pricing normally reserved for larger corporations.
Customers who join the Toyota Camry Buy-Cycle can purchase cars at up to
$500 below the dealer invoice price. With just eight buyers, the price will
drop from a starting price tier of $17,861 to $17,261.
Accompany's group buying model is a new and efficient way for car dealers
to acquire customers in volume, eliminating some of the challenges in what is
traditionally a labor-intensive one-to-one sales cycle. In addition to
receiving great value through volume, customers are also relieved of the
stress of haggling; all prices are set up front and are contingent only upon
the number of buyers.
"Automobiles and other high ticket items are a natural fit in the group
buying model because dealers can move large numbers in one sale," said
Jim Rose, CEO and co-founder of Accompany. "In addition, individual customers
can now enjoy the same fleet pricing formerly reserved for large purchasing
bodies. Everybody wins."
Buyers who choose to purchase the Toyota Camry will be charged a
$250 refundable credit card deposit which will go towards the total cost of
the car. Torrance Toyota and Piercey Toyota are offering a variety of
financing methods including the option to lease. Customers will deal directly
with these dealers once the Buy-Cycle closes. This promotion is for
CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY.
