Top Driver Acquires ABC Driving School; Michigan Acquisition Furthers National Expansion
DETROIT, Feb. 28 -- Top Driver, the nation's largest and
fastest growing driver education company, today announced that it has
purchased the 16-school chain of ABC Driving School ("ABC"), the largest
driving school in Michigan, with its headquarters based in Detroit.
"The acquisition of ABC provides Top Driver with a solid foundation for
expansion throughout Michigan," said Sebastian Giordano, Top Driver President
and Chief Operating Officer. "Since Jack Freed purchased the business in
1989, ABC has grown from three to 16 locations. Such growth is a testament to
ABC's success and reputation in the communities it serves and is indicative of
the potential for growth in the Michigan market."
"Leaving the business after 10 years was a difficult decision," said
Lenore Freed-Silver, ABC president and the wife of the late Jack Freed,
"however, knowing that it will be run by an established and successful company
like Top Driver is quite reassuring. I know that our loyal customers will be
in excellent hands."
With 216 locations in Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey,
New York, and Ohio, Top Driver is the first driver training company to deliver
standardized curriculum with automobile product and service information,
MetLife Auto insurance services, driving accessories and Department of Motor
Vehicle services. Top Driver's headquarters are in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
