AMA Pro Racing sets Willow Springs Race Date

26 February 2000

AMA PRO RACING SETS WILLOW SPRINGS RACE DATE FOR

                 CHEVY TRUCKS U.S. SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Pro

Racing has announced that a new round of the Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike

Championship Series has been added to the calendar, with racing set for

Sept. 29 - Oct. 1, 2000, at Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamond, Calif.

The Willow Springs race weekend -- the finale of the AMA Chevy Trucks

U.S. Superbike Championship -- is being organized by Hansyllan Motorsports,

whose principals, Dan Mole, Bill Pfeifer, Steve Rethmeier and Tim Taber,

have promoted concerts and provided management and logistical support for

sports events.

"It's great to be working with AMA Pro Racing and some of the world's

top Superbike riders," said Rethmeier. "AMA Pro Racing management has been

supportive of this event since we first proposed it, and we look forward to

developing a highly visible and exciting race weekend for the fans."

AMA Road Race Manager Ron Barrick agreed with Rethmeier. "Despite our

earlier scheduling difficulties at Willow Springs, Hansyllan Motosports and

AMA have been able to bring our series to southern California, which is

arguably the heart of the nation's motorcycle racing community. We now have

three California race weekends, with our May race at Sears Point, our July

race at Laguna Seca, and the series finale at Willow Springs. There's a

nice flow there for west coast fans who would like to follow our whole

season."
