Alan Powell Named Director of Pricing At Con-Way Southern Express
FORT WORTH, Texas--Feb. 23, 2000--John Hickerson, president and chief executive officer of Con-Way Southern Express (CSE) today announced the appointment of Alan Powell as director of pricing.In his new position Powell will be in charge of managing the base rate systems used by the company as well as the execution of pricing agreements reached between CSE and its customers. Pricing agreement management will involve customers with single shipping destinations as well as national accounts with multiple shipping and receiving locations. CSE provides regional less-than-truckload freight services for commercial and industrial shippers.
"Alan brings a wealth of transportation knowledge and pricing expertise to his new position. He is a proven performer. His contributions to CSE have been recognized many times and will continue," said Hickerson. Powell will report to John Guice, vice president of sales for CSE.
Powell began his career with CSE in the pricing department in 1992 as a rate auditor. He was promoted to pricing supervisor in 1993 and manager of collections in 1995. He has served as manager of revenue accounting since September 1995. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Arkansas and has over 11 years experience in the trucking industry. Powell and wife Kathy live in Hurst, TX.
