CTS Corporation Elects Roger R. Hemminghaus to Board of Directors
ELKHART, Ind.--Feb. 23, 2000--Roger R. Hemminghaus has been elected to the CTS Corporation Board of Directors, according to an announcement today by Joseph P. Walker, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of CTS. Mr. Hemminghaus is Chairman Emeritus of Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Corporation and Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. From December 1996 through 1998, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Corporation following the merger of Diamond Shamrock, Inc. and Ultramar Corporation. Prior to the merger, Mr. Hemminghaus was Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Diamond Shamrock, Inc.After serving four years as a naval officer involved in nuclear power development, Mr. Hemminghaus started his career in the refining and marketing industry, in 1962, as an engineer at Exxon, USA. Before joining a predecessor company to Diamond Shamrock, in 1984, he held various management positions in the areas of refining, petroleum products and natural gas.
In making the announcement, Walker stated, "Roger represents a strong addition to our Board of Directors. He brings a wealth of business experience, which will be of great benefit to CTS in the years ahead."
Mr. Hemminghaus holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University. He also completed postgraduate work in business and nuclear engineering. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Luby's, Inc., New Century Energies, billserv.com, Southwest Research Institute and the Nature Conservancy of Texas. He is Chairman of the Board of Regents of Texas Lutheran University and former Chairman of the National Petrochemicals and Refiners Association. Mr. Hemminghaus also serves on the National Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America, and on various other non-profit association boards in Texas.
