DeGaynor Named Operations Project Manager for Delphi Diesel
    FLINT, Mich., Feb. 23 -- Jonathan B. DeGaynor, manager of
venture development, has been named operations project manager for Delphi
Diesel Systems, according to Guy C. Hachey, president of Delphi Energy &
Chassis Systems.  The appointment was effective Feb. 1.  He reports to Edward
W. Northern, worldwide director of manufacturing for Delphi Energy & Chassis,
and Charles W. Ondrick, director of integration for Delphi Diesel Systems.
    DeGaynor began his career at General Motors in 1987 as a college student
intern at the former Rochester Products Division's Coopersville, Mich.,
operations.  After holding several manufacturing engineering positions, he was
named a project engineer for the former AC Rochester Division's Rochester,
N.Y., operations in 1990.  After completion of a GM fellowship where he earned
a master's degree in business administration from The Wharton School at the
University of Pennsylvania, DeGaynor transferred to Flint, Mich., in 1993 for
an assignment in technology planning.  He was named senior project engineer in
1994.  DeGaynor was promoted to staff engineer in 1996 and was appointed
superintendent of manufacturing engineering at Delphi's Flint East operations
later that year.  In addition to his master's degree, DeGaynor holds a
bachelor's in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan.
    Delphi Diesel Systems was acquired in January by Delphi and reports
through Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems.  Delphi Diesel has 12 manufacturing
facilities in seven countries and 8,300 employees.  It is the world's No. 2
producer of diesel fuel-injection systems for light-, medium- and heavy-duty
