GEICO'S Lakeland Office Honors AssociatesLAKELAND, Fla., Feb. 23 -- GEICO, the nation's sixth-largest auto insurer, honored its associates today for helping the company achieve a successful year in 1999. GEICO's 1,300 associates at the Lakeland, Fla., service center gathered to hear congratulations and "thank you" from GEICO management, to celebrate the company's growth and to rededicate themselves to providing outstanding service to its customers. "We are very proud of our hard working and dedicated associates at GEICO," said Gary Brown, GEICO's regional manager. "They are responsible for attracting and keeping our policyholders with great rates and fantastic service. Today is a day of in-house celebration and fun!" GEICO increased its policyholders by 21.5 percent in 1999 and is one of the fastest-growing auto insurers in the nation. GEICO insures more than 4 million policyholders and 6.6 million automobiles.
