Daewoo Gives Superior Customer Care Through Better Business Bureau ProgramCOMPTON, Calif., Feb. 22 -- Daewoo Motor America has teamed with the Better Business Bureau's BBB AUTO LINE warranty dispute resolution program to provide owners of Daewoo vehicles with superior customer care. Daewoo is pleased to offer this extra service to its customers, and even more delighted that in 1999 only ten Daewoo customers needed to contact BBB AUTO LINE for assistance. Nine of these cases were closed before arbitration took place, and the one case that did go to arbitration resulted in a finding that a repurchase of the vehicle was not warranted. This compares to BBB AUTO LINE's 1999 averages for all participating motor vehicle manufacturers and distributors showing 77% being closed prior to arbitration, and a repurchase rate of 34% for all arbitrations. Daewoo's excellent results with the Better Business Bureau program can be attributed to the company's focus on providing outstanding customer service at its retail outlets and through its National Customer Assistance Center. Daewoo intends its strong commitment to customer satisfaction to be a key point of differentiation from other manufacturers. Daewoo standard practice is to present consumers with helpful information at the time of sale. An "Owner Information About Consumer Protection Laws" booklet is provided to all owners when they purchase their new vehicle to give them information and services in the event of a warranty dispute or other complication. Daewoo Motor America operates a sales network of more than 301 retail locations in 45 states. The company currently sells the subcompact Lanos, the compact Nubira and the mid size luxury sedan Leganza. This year Daewoo will be adding Korando, the sporty SUV, to its present line-up. The 2001 Korando recently made its US debut at the 2000 Los Angeles International Auto Show, and is anticipated to be available for sale in mid 2000. Daewoo Motor America, Inc. is based in Compton, CA, and is the U.S. subsidiary of Daewoo Motor headquartered in Seoul, Korea. Daewoo Motor operates 18 manufacturing facilities in 14 countries and has sales operations in more than 180 countries.
