DynaMotive Technologies Appoints New Technology Team to Design and Build Commercial BioOil Production FacilitiesVANCOUVER, Feb. 22 -- DynaMotive Technologies Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: DYMTF) announced that it has assembled a highly experienced new Technology Group to enable the Company to design and build commercial sized BioOil production plants in its key markets in North America, Europe, Asia and South America over the next five years. The team will also provide technical support and expertise to DynaMotive's operating companies around the world while continuing to further develop the Company's BioOil technology and applications. Headed by newly appointed Chief Technology Officer Keith W. Morris, the multidisciplinary team includes senior project, chemical and process control engineers, research scientists and plant operations specialists. In addition Resource Transforms International Ltd. (RTI), from whom DynaMotive recently purchased the worldwide patent rights to its BioOil production technology, will continue to work with the Technology Group in a consulting role. They will also continue their efforts in developing new BioOil derivative products. "Over the past year, DynaMotive has demonstrated to the international renewable energy community that its pyrolysis process produces a consistently high quality BioOil," said CTO Keith Morris who is also Vice President, Engineering. "In addition, our pyrolysis technology has the highest mass conversion rate of feedstock to BioOil using equipment with features that are easily scalable to commercial plant size." Commenting on the new technology team, DynaMotive's President and CEO Andrew Kingston said, "DynaMotive is very fortunate to have attracted such a high calibre of professional engineers and scientists who will play a pivotal role in scaling up our BioOil technology. We recognize that we must get our BioOil into the marketplace as quickly as possible and believe this team provides the technical know how and practical industrial experience to help us accomplish our business objectives." DynaMotive's BioOil Technology Group is structured in two divisions. The Engineering Division, headed by W.L. Johnson, comprises a team of process control, mechanical and chemical process engineers possessing extensive experience with industrial plant design. This group will be responsible for the BioOil plant project design, scale up, construction and commissioning. The R&D Division, headed by Dr. J.A. Barynin, includes a team of analytical scientists and plant operation specialists who will be responsible for BioOil product development and pilot plant process improvements. DynaMotive Technologies is a world leader in the development of BioOil clean fuels for "green" power generation. BioOil is produced using a unique waste-to-energy technology that converts low value biomass wastes into a liquid fuel used in gas turbines and diesel engines. Unlike fossil fuels, BioOil is renewable, clean burning, low in emissions, greenhouse gas neutral and can be produced economically from biomass wastes. Leaders of the BioOil Technology Group include: Keith W. Morris, P.Eng. - Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Engineering Mr. Morris joined DynaMotive as VP, Engineering in 1998 and was appointed CTO in January 2000. He is responsible for the Company's R&D program relating to BioOil technology and all engineering design and operations related to scale up of the BioOil production facilities. Before joining DynaMotive, he worked for 25 years in the domestic and international power generation industry, primarily with ABB Power Generation where he was head of boiler design engineering. He is a Professional Engineer and holds a B.Sc. in Engineering Physics from Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario. Warren L. Johnson, P.Eng. - Director, Engineering Mr. Johnson leads the BioOil design engineering and construction group. Before joining DynaMotive, he worked for 18 years in the domestic and international chemical, pulp & paper and environmental industries in process design, design and construction management, new technology development and commercialization, start-up, operations and safety. His recent responsibility included technology development and commercialization as VP Engineering at Conor Pacific Environmental Technologies Inc. He is a Professional Engineer and holds a B.Sc. from the University of Alberta. Dr. Jan A. Barynin, Ph.D., P.Eng. - Director, Research & Development Dr. Barynin heads the BioOil R&D group. He has 30 years experience in the steam and power generating industry -- 20 years with major North American boiler manufacturers including Babcock & Wilcox and 10 years in the engineering consulting field, namely with H.A. Simons where he worked on projects for Syncrude Inc., Suncor Inc., Scott Paper Co., Fletcher Challenge Canada Ltd. and Weldwood Pulp Mill. He is a Professional Engineer and holds a PhD. from the University of London (UK) and a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Royal Technical University of Denmark. Dr. Desmond Radlein, Ph.D. - President, Resource Transforms International Ltd. (RTI) Dr. Radlein is the inventor or co-inventor of ten patents on pyrolysis and petroleum processing. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, England and was an Associate Research Professor at the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Waterloo.
