Delphi Names Davey Product Line Manager for Controlled Suspension; Brooks Named Plant Manager for Saltillo, Mexico, OperationsFLINT, Mich., Feb. 21 -- Stephen L. Davey, plant manager of Delphi Energy & Chassis Divisions' Saltillo, Mexico, operations, has been named product line manager for controlled suspension at Delphi Energy & Chassis, according to Guy C. Hachey, president of Delphi Energy & Chassis. Daniel R. Brooks, who is a project manager for Delphi Energy & Chassis, will succeed Davey as plant manager of the Saltillo operations. The appointments are effective March 1. Davey will report to John M. Weber, business line executive for chassis control systems at Delphi Energy & Chassis. Brooks will report to Robert L. Johnson, director of Mexican operations for Delphi Energy & Chassis. Davey began his career at General Motors in 1973 as an assistant buyer for the former New Departure-Hyatt Division in Sandusky, Ohio. He was named an industrial engineer in 1975 and a labor relations representative in 1976. Davey was promoted to supervisor of equal employment opportunities in 1978 and to general supervisor of labor relations in 1982. After holding positions as senior business planner and manager of marketing and planning for the former Delco Chassis Division, he was appointed operations manager for Sandusky operations in 1991. Davey was named manager of worldwide wheel-bearing business development in 1996 before his appointment as plant manager of Delphi Energy & Chassis' Saltillo, Mexico, operations in 1998. He earned his bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the former General Motors Institute in 1973. Brooks began his career at GM in 1983 as a salaried-employee-in-training for the former Delco Products Division in Rochester, N.Y., before his appointment as an associate manufacturing engineer later that year. He was named customer contact inspector in 1985 and manufacturing engineer in 1987. Brooks held positions as program manager for the former Delco Chassis Division in Warren, Mich., and senior project engineer for Delco Chassis' Milford, Mich., operations before his appointment as assistant master mechanic for the former Delphi Chassis Divisions' Dayton, Ohio, operations in 1995. He was named project manager for divisional quality assurance in 1998. Brooks earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and his master's in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University in 1986.
