Textron Appoints Joseph A. Nowacki To VP and GM, GM Business Unit

Textron Automotive Trim Appoints Joseph A. Nowacki To Vice President and General Manager, General Motors Business Unit
    TROY, Mich., Feb. 21 -- Textron Automotive Company's Trim
Division today announced the appointment of Joseph A. Nowacki to Vice
President and General Manager, General Motors Business Unit, reporting to
Michael A. Mitchell, Executive Vice President, Business & Product Development.
Mr. Nowacki succeeds David A. Cataldi, who has been named Senior Vice
President of Manufacturing Systems for Kautex Textron's North American
Operations, a division of Textron Automotive Company.
    In his new position, Mr. Nowacki, 42, will be responsible for providing
leadership to his Business Unit in the area of sales, marketing, engineering
and program management, as well as customer relations and business growth with
General Motors Corporation.
    "Joe's broad background, including quality, purchasing, program management
and engineering, and his knowledge of the industry will be critical as we
position our business for continued growth and success," said Mitchell.
    Mr. Nowacki joined Textron Automotive in 1994 as a business unit manager
for Randall Textron, formerly a division of Textron Automotive.  He joined the
Trim Division as platform director on the DaimlerChrysler Large Car Group in
1997.  Prior to Textron Automotive, he held a variety of management positions
in Quality, Purchasing and Engineering for DaimlerChrysler Corporation.
    Mr. Nowacki earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical
Engineering from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, and a
Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor,
Michigan.
