"We congratulate Matt on his tremendous debut at the 'Super Bowl of Motorsports,' race this weekend," said Joe Pierce, senior vice president and general manager of EMAZING.
Averaging speeds of more than 130 miles per hour, his Daytona 500 debut earned Kenseth the Raybestos "Rookie of the Race" award. About Matt Kenseth
Matt Kenseth is one of those drivers that everyone keeps an eye on. Fans. Car owners. Competitors. His talent is so readily apparent that it's not a question of if he'll make it big, but when. Kenseth won track championships at Madison and Wisconsin International Raceway in 1994 & 1995 before moving on to compete in the ASA series in 1997. Matt was running second in the ASA points race in April of 1997 when he was asked to join Robbie Reiser and Reiser Enterprises to compete in the NASCAR Busch Series. Kenseth grabbed two third place finishes and seven top tens, in just 21 starts, and finished second in the Rookie of the Year battle. Matt blossomed in 1998, his first year running the full Busch Series circuit, posting three wins, 17 top fives and 23 top ten finishes. Kenseth finished second behind Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in the championship points battle. In 1999, Matt was once again in the championship points race, capturing four victories, two poles, 14 top five finishes and 20 top tens. Kenseth finished third in the points battle and while also competing in five Winston Cup races for DeWALT Tools and Roush Racing.
