USF Holland Opens New Service Center in Erie, PA
HOLLAND, Mich.--Feb. 21, 2000--USF Holland, a unit of USFreightways Corporation, announced the opening today of a new, full-service terminal in Erie, Pennsylvania. The new facility will substantially increase capacity, operating efficiency and equipment availability within the market. Customers located in the Erie service area will continue to benefit from extensive next-day service coverage. Some of Erie's major next-day markets include Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville and Toronto, as well as all points in Ohio."We are committed to providing our Erie customers with the most extensive next-day service available," says Scott Shaffer, Erie Terminal Manager. "The new facility located on Hirtzel Road in nearby North East, Pennsylvania, will have 40 dock doors on a 20-acre plot that has plenty of room for expansion. That's critical if USF Holland is to grow with this dynamic market," Shaffer concluded.
