AMA: Tortelli finishes second in Pontiac Supercross

2000 AMA/EA Sports Supercross Series, Round 7: Pontiac Silverdome, Pontiac, Michigan, February 19, 2000 Team Honda's Sebastien Tortelli and Kevin Windham put in electrifying rides to post their best results yet in the AMA/EA Sports Supercross Series by claiming inspired second and fifth-place finishes at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan on Saturday night. Honda-supported Mike LaRocco, who crashed at the start, picked himself up dead last out of the first turn and spent the remainder of the race clawing his way back to a seventh place finish. Series leader Jeremy McGrath took his fifth win in this seventh event of the season. LaRocco still holds third position in overall points. Pontiac marked round two of the AMA 125cc Eastern Region Supercross Series, and Team FMF/Honda's Brock Sellards stretched his series points lead with a second-place finish behind Stephane Roncada. Next week's action moves to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Saturday, February 26 for Round 8 of the series.
