Caliber Collision Centers Enters San Bernardino Market, Acquires 33,000 Sq. Foot Facility

    IRVINE, Calif.--Feb. 17, 2000--Irvine-based Caliber Collision Centers, now operating 32 high-quality collision repair facilities in California and Texas, Thursday announced the completed acquisition of Bob's Custom Paint & Body in San Bernardino.
    Former owners Bob and Brigitte Murphy plan on retiring to travel the country.
    According to Joe Sanders, senior vice president of Corporate Development, the 33,000 square-foot, recently renovated property faces tremendous growth opportunity because of its location, quality staff and strong insurace relationships.
    "This is an excellent acquisition and natural fit for Caliber. It's large, strategically located relative to our existing centers, and it fulfills a need felt by both consumers and insurance providers for fast, efficient auto repairs in the area," Sanders said.
    Before retiring, both Bob and Brigitte Murphy said they will stay on board with the rest of the staff to assist with transitioning the business. According to Bob, Caliber Collision Centers afforded him the opportunity to pass along his business to a company that has the same commitment to superior quality and service that he has had since founding the business in 1976.
