MSX International Wins Competitive Ford 'Best Practices Recognition' Award

18 February 2000

MSX International, Inc., Wins Competitive Ford 'Best Practices Recognition' Award
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 17 -- MSX International's Web & IT
Services and Enterprise Information Management Services teams received a "Best
Practices Recognition" award from Ford Motor Company's Product Development
Group. The award honors teams whose exemplary Best Practices make a major
impact within product development. This year, six winners were selected from
550 nominations. The MSX International solution was recognized for
significant time savings.
Ford's Dennis Sopko, Chief Engineer, Body Engineering, represented Ford as
Team Champion. Receiving the award for Web & IT Services were Director and
General Manager, Troy Gazette, Dain Pearson and Len Kleinow. Enterprise
Information Management Services was represented by Kathy Wiktor. "MSX
International's and Ford's commitment to leverage technology to improve
mission-critical processes has resulted in an eBusiness solution with dramatic
results," said Gazette.
The award was for the document management system developed by MSX
International for Ford. Current engineering data is scanned and stored in a
database; a Web-based application enables instantaneous global access to the
data by Ford engineers worldwide. More than 2 million images are accessible
to thousands of users, and 2,000 new drawings are added each week. The MSX
International solution replaces the microfilm system that had been in use at
Ford since the 1930s.
Web & IT Services combines customer requirements and broad technology
experience to deliver practical, industry-leading eBusiness solutions.
Enterprise Information Management Services provides integrated document and
