Former Mascotech Accessories Executive Launches Intellectual Property Super Site
SACRAMENTO, Calif.--Feb. 17, 2000-- PatentCafe.com, Inc., headed by former Mascotech Accessories, Inc. executive Andy Gibbs, has announced the closing of investment by lead investor Internet.com Fund II and Gray Cary Venture Fund.PatentCafe.com is the first and largest portal dedicated to the development and commercialization of intellectual property. The investment represents the first outside funding obtained by this 4-year-old business-to-business technology and intellectual property law portal.
PatentCafe.com is the seventh company founded by President/CEO Andy Gibbs in the past 20 years. Before PatentCafe.com Gibbs served as Executive Vice-President of Marketing & Business Development for Mascotech Accessories, Inc., divested by Detroit-based Mascotech, Inc. . "This funding provides the necessary tools to leverage the Patent Cafe's superior web presence and launch some of its key new programs, including our native language international sites now in development," says Gibbs. "More importantly it establishes valuable relationships with leading Internet players, critical to realizing our rapid expansion plan."
