BMWCentral.com Launches the First BMW Portal

17 February 2000

BMWCentral.com Launches the First BMW Portal; 'A One-Stop Shop for Everything BMW."
MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 17 -- BMWCentral.com, a joint venture of
Jump Internet, LLC and Heishman BMW, today announced its BMW-specific vertical
portal is live and available to independent shops, BMW dealers and enthusiasts
at http://www.bmwcentral.com. The new e-commerce site features what will soon be the
largest inventory of BMW parts, accessories and merchandise on the web, as
well as a BMW-specific search engine, free classifieds, websites, calendars,
forums, e-mail and more.
A simple intuitive interface and enhanced features enable BMW mechanics to
quickly and easily purchase parts or find answers to difficult questions.
Additionally, enthusiasts or the BMW curious can search the web for BMW-
specific information, interact with members of the community by participating
in discussion forums or find events listed in the BMW-related calendars.
"BMWCentral.com has been engineered from the ground up to provide quick
and easy access to parts and information," said Charlie Romero, company
President. "Take our SmartParts(TM) search, for example. A mechanic can enter
relevant keywords or a portion of a part number and quickly and easily
purchase the necessary part without having to fumble through microfiche."
BMWCentral.com's mission is to provide value to independent shops and
authorized dealers by eliminating inefficiencies in the auto parts industry.
"Our classifieds are simpler, too," continued Romero. "Unlike other
online auto classifieds that require the user to select from multiple pop-ups
and check boxes, BMWCentral classifieds offer a more familiar search box
allowing the user to simply type what they're looking for and retrieve
relevant results."
"Community is not just a brand extension of BMWCentral.com; community is
our business," said Scott Heishman of Heishman BMW. "We are solely focused on
building customer loyalty for BMWCentral.com and our partners by empowering
each user with knowledge in the easiest most fluid manner possible."
BMWCentral.com distributes BMW-related parts and accessories to
independent shops, authorized dealers and consumers via the internet and
aggregates BMW-related content from all over the web in one central, easy-to-
use portal to the benefit of mechanics and consumers alike.
