Delco Remy International Unit Appoints Business Unit Leaders
    ANDERSON, Ind., Feb. 17 -- Delco Remy America President
Richard L. Stanley announced the appointment of two business unit general
managers to lead DRA's Automotive and Heavy Duty/Industrial businesses.
Senior Vice President Thomas R. Jennett is named General Manager of the Heavy
Duty/Industrial Division.  Robert E. Lawson is promoted to Senior Vice
President and General Manager of the Automotive Systems Division.  Delco Remy
America is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delco Remy International, Inc.

    "These appointments are recognition of the outstanding leadership both of
these individuals have demonstrated in their previous assignments," said
Stanley.  "Both Jennett and Lawson have considerable experience, and they are
recognized by the industry as customer-focused leaders.  We expect these
assignments to strengthen our pursuit of aggressive growth."
    Each division has full responsibility to design, manufacture, market and
sell their products for original equipment and aftermarket customers.  The
activities of the Aftermarket Division of DRA, formerly headed by Jennett,
will be integrated into the Automotive and Heavy Duty/Industrial Divisions.
This integration will improve customer responsiveness and enhance
organizational efficiency.
    Jennett joined DRA in 1996 from Leece Neville Heavy Duty Division of
Prestolite Electric, Inc., where he had served as president since 1995.
Jennett began his manufacturing career with Prestolite Electric, Inc., in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  In 1985, he was promoted to general sales manager of
Prestolite Motor & Ignition, Allied-Signal Corporation in Toledo, Ohio.  While
there, he oversaw the OEM and aftermarket segments of material handling,
marine, heavy duty truck and industrial markets.  Three years later, Jennett
was promoted to general manager of the Material Handling Division.  In 1990,
he was named vice president of sales & marketing of Prestolite Electric, Inc.
and then was promoted to president of the Aftermarket Services Division in
1992, before becoming president of Leece Neville.  Jennett graduated from the
University of Wisconsin with a bachelor of science degree in business
management.  He serves on the board of Automotive Electrical Association (AEA)
and is a member of Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), Heavy
Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), and Automotive Parts Rebuilders
Association (APRA).
    Lawson is an Anderson, Indiana native.  He earned a bachelor of science
degree in industrial management and a masters of science degree, both from
Purdue University.  He began his career with the former Delco Remy Division of
General Motors in 1973.  Following several promotions and assignments in
manufacturing, personnel, labor relations, marketing, engineering and sales,
he elected to join DRA in 1994 when it became an independent company.  As
DRA's vice president of sales and marketing for the Automotive Systems
Business Unit, Lawson's responsibilities have included marketing and business
strategy development in addition to both domestic and international sales
activities.  He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers,
Engineering Society of Detroit, Detroit Economic Club, Society of Automotive
Analysts, and Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA) where he serves
on the Sales and Marketing Council.
