MONTREAL--Feb. 17, 2000--Rankin Technologies Inc. (CDNX:BMG.A) (http://www.vehicletracking.com) is pleased to announce that it has successfully tracked and recovered the first Boomerang-equipped vehicle stolen in British Columbia, a new market of distribution for the Boomerang device.The Auto Theft Task Force, an independent police force comprised of officers from the RCMP and local police agencies responsible to the Attorney General's Office, stated in a press release issued February 15, "This is the first time in B.C. where this cellular based vehicle tracking technology has been used to recover stolen property." The stolen vehicle, valued at $35,000, was recovered within 1 hour of being reported to the Boomerang tracking team and led to the recovery of a $5,000 ATV stolen from Alberta.
