MITS OLAP Moving Into Auto Dealership Market

SEATTLE--Feb. 16, 2000--Business intelligence software developer, Management Information Tools, Inc., today announced plans to introduce AUTOLAP a complete drill-down interactive reporting facility pre-configured for popular motor vehicle dealership systems.
This groundbreaking offering brings the power of online analytical processing (OLAP) within easy reach of thousands of auto, truck, and farm equipment dealers.

    INTEGRATED WITH POPULAR DEALER SYSTEMS

AUTOLAP is based on the MITS OLAP facility that is already providing businesses in several market areas with cost-effective business intelligence. The latest strategy carries this new class of easily deployed OLAP tools to the heart of businesses that can leverage the data and hardware of existing business systems to gain new competitive advantages.
"We've decided to lower every potential barrier in order to make AUTOLAP the standard OLAP tool for motor vehicle dealerships," says MITI president, Pat Gilbrough. "In addition to prepackaged interfaces to systems from Reynolds & Reynolds and ADP's dealer services division, AUTOLAP is packaged as an easily installed trial version, complete with online training."

    FREE DEMONSTRATION VERSION

With distribution by CD-ROM, the user-installable product requires no technical expertise to install and implement. The trial software is actually a complete AUTOLAP system, with time-limited activation to give customers an ample period to demonstrate its value in their own business economies. This method is designed to rapidly propagate the product throughout a target market Gilbrough estimates at more than 25,000 dealerships.

    LOW COST/HIGH VALUE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Unlike competitive OLAP tools, AUTOLAP eliminates the expense and administrative overhead of additional hardware and networking. Both the MITS tools and "data cubes" can be installed on the same processor as the host application, so the demonstration version will provide full functionality at no cost to potential customers. This will provide ample opportunity to apply AUTOLAP against the service, parts, sales and finance modules of operational systems.
Equal in power and sophistication to more expensive alternatives, AUTOLAP includes:

    -- MitsView 32-bit Windows(R) client

-- MitsBuilder data transformation engine for building
    efficient hypercubes

    -- MitsServer analysis engine

    -- AUTOLAP application interface

AUTOLAP is slated for end-user delivery in the third quarter of 2000.
