SAN DIEGO--Feb. 15, 2000--Newgen Results Corporation , a leading provider of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology for the service sector of the U.S. retail automotive industry, today announced that it has formed a wholly owned subsidiary, Carabunga.com.The company also announced that Jim Roche, 40, has been named president of Carabunga.com. Roche was formerly senior vice president of operations and e-Services for Newgen. Sam Simkin, senior vice president and chief financial officer, will succeed Roche and oversee Newgen's operations, in addition to his existing duties.
Carabunga.com is intended to be the first dealer portal for one-to-one marketing programs for the automotive industry. Three products will comprise the site and help dealers and manufacturers perform the following using the Internet:
-- e-Promotions will identify a group of service customers ready to purchase another vehicle and create an on-line program of specialty letters and telephone follow-up calls. These promotions will not only be created on-line, they will also be fulfilled by a simple click of a mouse. -- e-Coupons will provide an electronic format to deliver coupons offering service specials. -- Road will provide an electronic format that will enable dealers and manufacturers to analyze and purify their customer database for consumer trends, perform data visualization and mapping techniques, and consequently generate prospect lists of customers who are ready to buy another vehicle.
"The industry is already spending $8.0 billion per year at the dealer level for traditional mass marketing," said Gerald L. Benowitz, Newgen's chairman, president and CEO. "We want to divert some of that budget to e-Promotions by demonstrating how much more cost effective one-to-one marketing can be."
According to Benowitz, the company will support the Carabunga.com with infrastructure and capital. "Jim's goal is to build a scalable Internet-driven business as quickly as possible."
Benowitz was also elated over the appointment of Sam Simkin to head operations. "Sam will bring a financial perspective to the position that will help us leverage our fixed costs as we grow. These moves are positive both for Newgen and the individuals involved."
