Bayer Commercializes Therban HNBR Grade

AKRON, Ohio--Feb. 11, 2000--Bayer Corporation has commercialized a developmental grade of Therban(R) HNBR. The Therban grade formerly known as Therban XN 533A will now be sold as Therban A 3907.
Therban A 3907, a fully saturated grade of HNBR, is designed for a variety of automotive applications, including seals and O-rings. Therban HNBR, invented and patented by Bayer, gives products superior performance and durability in applications where extreme temperature, fuel, oil, ozone or abrasion exists.
"Transitioning Therban A 3907 from a developmental product to a commercial product helps to ensure predictable, consistent quality," says Brian McCue, Regional Product Manager, Therban. "This verification is welcomed by our customers who have been successfully using this grade."
In August 1999, Bayer's Therban manufacturing unit in Orange, Texas, became the first and only HNBR facility in the world to be QS-9000 registered.
Customers may request copies of Therban A 3907 Product Specifications and Material Safety Data Sheets by visiting the Therban website at www.therban.com or calling Bayer toll-free at 1-877-THERBAN.
