Bayer Improves Therban HNBR Packaging

AKRON, Ohio--Feb. 11, 2000--Bayer Corporation has improved the packaging for its Therban(R) products. The new Therban bale film wrap may be stripped or dispersed, depending on customer mixing conditions.
The new film, with a melting range of 85 C to 110 C, presents a cost-effective option for customers able to disperse it. Film wrap that is dispersed requires no further handling, which can increase productivity, reduce waste and enhance worker safety.
"Bayer has just provided another opportunity for our customers to benefit from waste reduction and increased productivity," says Brian McCue, Regional Product Manager, Therban. "Therban customers who have the ability to disperse the new film wrap can now realize improved cost savings."

Other specs of Therban's new film wrap are as follows: ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Appearance Blue with white strip (16 cm wide) on one
side. Product identification and bar coding
    are printed directly on the white strip. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thickness 2 mil (51 micron) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Base polymer composition 18 wt % EVA/PE ---------------------------------------------------------------------- VICAT softening point 71 C ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Melt point 85 C ----------------------------------------------------------------------
