TRW Sets Sights On e-Business Leadership, Appoints Priscilla Guthrie to Lead Global e-Business Initiatives

CLEVELAND--Feb. 11, 2000--TRW today named a senior aerospace and information systems executive to its top e-business post, in a move signaling its intention to become a major player in the e-business arena.
Priscilla E. Guthrie has been named to the new position of vice president, e-Business, for TRW, effective immediately. Guthrie, who will report directly to TRW President & Chief Operating Officer David M. Cote, will be responsible for directing TRW's global e-business strategy.
"E-business is revolutionizing our interactions with both customers and suppliers," said Cote. "How companies like TRW use information technology and the Internet will increasingly separate the winners from the losers, the premier companies from the poor performers. Leveraging TRW's decades of experience in information technology, e-business initiatives are being actively undertaken in all of our businesses. Priscilla's experience in business enterprise systems, information technology infrastructures, and telecommunications services makes her ideally suited to lead TRW's e-business activities in this exciting new era."
Guthrie most recently served as vice president and general manager of Global Enterprise Solutions for TRW Systems & Information Technology Group, based in Reston, Va., where she has been leading the group's entry into the commercial marketplace. Her more than 25-year TRW career has spanned defense, intelligence, federal, civil, and automotive business areas. From 1995 to 1998, she was deputy general manager of TRW's Information Services Division, providing information technology services for large, complex national programs.
"TRW's unusual depth of technology resources means we are developing innovative e-business approaches that will offer significant advantages for our customers. We are also using leading-edge information technology to streamline our internal processes, reduce cycle times, and effectively manage the entire value chain of our activities," said Cote.
Guthrie's initial focus will be on TRW's automotive businesses. Based in Detroit, she will direct automotive e-business efforts, including interfacing with customer-initiated e-business programs. She will coordinate automotive e-business efforts with those already under way in the Aerospace & Information Systems operations.
"I am delighted to help advance TRW's global e-business initiatives," said Guthrie. "TRW is exceptionally well positioned to develop state-of-the-art e-business applications for our customers, and I look forward to what we will be able to achieve in partnership with them."
Guthrie earned her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University and her masters in Business Administration from Marymount University.
