Tiresearch.com Helps Locate Hard-to-Find Tires
11 February 2000
SACRAMENTO, Calif.--InfoExpert Crepeau, Inc. of Quebec, and Synergex International of Gold River, Calif., announce the launch of tiresearch.com.
The Internet site, created using Synergex software development products, will allow tire vendors anywhere to make their inventories accessible to consumers and distributors searching the web for tires. Formally launched at the Tire Dealers of Canada Convention in Toronto, the tiresearch.com database initially contains more than 28,000 listings of specialty, antique, odd-sized, and other hard-to-find tires, as well as more common offerings.
"Tires can range in price from $50 for an inexpensive automobile tire to $50,000 for a specialized mining machine tire," said Ghislain Crepeau, owner of InfoExpert. "Large specialty inventories can be a significant burden for a company and searches for the right tire can be quite time-consuming. With tiresearch.com dealers can quickly locate and order any tire a customer might request, whether automotive, truck, airplane, industrial, off-road, or any other kind."
Developed by InfoExpert and Computer Advocacy of Toronto, tiresearch.com offers vendors two levels of listing service for a nominal monthly per-item fee. The vendor with a small inventory can use an online form to enter a few items into the tiresearch.com database. However, for large distributors and manufacturers, InfoExpert provides software that provides a direct interface between the vendor's inventory software and the tiresearch.com server, so vendors can automatically upload and maintain their current inventory and pricing information on the Website. Tiresearch.com is a free service for those wanting to locate tires within the extensive database.
Tiresearch.com uses Synergy/DE technology to power both the individual Web-interface applications and the Website database management system.
