Ford Motor Company Appoints Jason Vines as Vice President, Communications
DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 10 -- Ford Motor Company
President and Chief Executive Officer Jacques Nasser today announced the
appointment of Jason Vines as vice president, Communications.
Vines joins Ford from Nissan North America and will be responsible for
Ford's global internal and external communications, including investor
relations. He succeeds Vaughn Koshkarian, who was named vice president, Ford
Asia Pacific Operations.
"We are thrilled that Jason is joining our team," said Nasser. "Jason's
extensive automotive communications experience will help us achieve our vision
of becoming the world's leading consumer company for automotive products and
services."
Vines, 40, was vice president of External Affairs at Nissan North America,
responsible for communications and government affairs. From 1983 to 1998, he
served in a variety of media relations, internal communications and labor
relations functions at Chrysler Corporation. In 1993, Vines served a two-year
term in Washington, D.C. as a communications executive with the former
American Automobile Manufacturers Association (AAMA), the trade group that
represented the Big Three in government affairs issues.
In July 1999, Automotive News named Vines the public relations "All Star"
for the automotive industry, citing his efforts in rebuilding Nissan's image
in the United States.
Vines holds a master's degree from Michigan State University and a
bachelor's degree from Central University of Iowa.
