Ford Motor Company Appoints Jason Vines as Vice President, CommunicationsDEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 10 -- Ford Motor Company President and Chief Executive Officer Jacques Nasser today announced the appointment of Jason Vines as vice president, Communications. Vines joins Ford from Nissan North America and will be responsible for Ford's global internal and external communications, including investor relations. He succeeds Vaughn Koshkarian, who was named vice president, Ford Asia Pacific Operations. "We are thrilled that Jason is joining our team," said Nasser. "Jason's extensive automotive communications experience will help us achieve our vision of becoming the world's leading consumer company for automotive products and services." Vines, 40, was vice president of External Affairs at Nissan North America, responsible for communications and government affairs. From 1983 to 1998, he served in a variety of media relations, internal communications and labor relations functions at Chrysler Corporation. In 1993, Vines served a two-year term in Washington, D.C. as a communications executive with the former American Automobile Manufacturers Association (AAMA), the trade group that represented the Big Three in government affairs issues. In July 1999, Automotive News named Vines the public relations "All Star" for the automotive industry, citing his efforts in rebuilding Nissan's image in the United States. Vines holds a master's degree from Michigan State University and a bachelor's degree from Central University of Iowa.
