Telpar and AccuScan Merge Into Single Distribution and Service Entity; Combined Organization Will Offer Both Point of Sale (POS) and Auto I.D. Products
    ADDISON, Texas, Feb. 9 -- Telpar, Inc., a leading point of
sale (POS) distributor and AccuScan, a distributor of Auto ID equipment, have
announced the merger of the two organizations into a single entity: Telpar,
Inc.  Telpar is a member of the Moore family of companies.
    The merger of the AccuScan sales and service organization into Telpar will
result in an expanded customer base, a wider selection of products and a
variety of warranty and repair services.  Administration, operations,
marketing and engineering functions will remain at Telpar's headquarters in
Addison, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.  The combined company will have a
nationally distributed sales force of value added reseller (VAR) managers and
the nationwide service capabilities of Telpar Service.  Telpar is also a
certified ISO-9001 organization.
    The combination of Telpar as a major Point of Sales (POS) distributor, and
AccuScan as both an Auto ID Distributor and solutions provider offers a number
of benefits:

    --  VARS (Value Added Resellers) and dealers can buy from a single source
        for both Auto ID and POS (Point of Sale) products.
    --  A broader product line encompassing both Auto ID (AccuScan) and POS
        products (Telpar) will create a business model which can compete more
        effectively in this dynamic market.
    --  The combined company will have national sales and service coverage to
        address the nationwide customer base of VARS and Dealers.

customer on-site service will be available for the combined entity.
    Bill McGarrity, President of Telpar, will be responsible for the combined
company.  Reporting to Mr. McGarrity as National Sales Manager for the
distribution business is Mike Smith.  Mr. Smith has 10 years distribution and
sales management experience in both the Auto ID and POS product marketplace.
Formerly with Nimax, Mr. Smith joined Telpar on Monday, January 17, 2000.
    In announcing the merger of the two distribution companies, Bill
