Savi Technology Moves to New Headquarters to Accommodate Growth
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--Feb. 9, 2000--Center, Announces Launch of New Web Site
Heralding Asset Visibility Systems
Savi Technology, Inc. today announced its move to new headquarters in Sunnyvale, Calif.
The new facilities are designed to support Savi's rapid expansion as it markets its asset visibility systems more broadly to commercial customers. The company also said it will open new offices near Washington, D.C. to support its role as principal contractor for the U.S. Department of Defense's Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) procurement.
Concurrent with the move to a new headquarters, Savi launched a new web site, at www.savi.com. The site's content describes the company's role as the leading provider of enterprise asset visibility systems that utilize the power of the Internet and Automatic Data Collection (ADC) technologies to enhance operating efficiency of both e-business and traditional brick-and-mortar companies.
"Savi's commitment to our commercial and government customers requires that we provide detailed knowledge of all types of Internet-based ADC technologies and the resources to implement and support real-time asset visibility solutions, particularly as e-commerce continues to accelerate all aspects of business," said Vic Verma, President and CEO of Savi Technology.
"To meet this commitment, we are creating extensive test and evaluation facilities, and adding new staff across the company. We've added significant new business in the last few months, and we are building on those wins to secure a leadership position in the market for supply chain visibility systems, one of the most important emerging business segments of the twenty-first century."
New Facilities
With a total of 66,000 sq. ft. of built-out space, Savi Technology's new corporate headquarters is nearly twice the size of the Mountain View facility the company vacated in January. Savi expects that approximately 85 percent of the employee head count will be based in the new facility, located at 615 Tasman Drive, Sunnyvale, Calif., 94089.
Additional employees will operate from the new Eastern operations office, directed by Thomas D'Angelo, the company's Senior Vice President of Government Operations. Savi is the primary supplier of RFID systems to the U.S. Department of Defense under a $100 million plus contract.
Both of the new facilities also serve as operational bases for Savi's Field Services and Customer Support groups, which include engineering staff to service and support system installations at customer sites around the world. Savi also maintains a European field engineering office near Heidelberg, Germany.
