X-Rite, Incorporated Names New Chief Executive Officer
GRANDVILLE, Mich.--Feb. 9, 2000--The board of directors of X-Rite, Incorporated today announced the appointment of Richard E. Cook to the position of Chief Executive Officer. In addition to his new responsibilities, Cook will continue to serve as the company's president.The Grandville, Michigan-based developer of color critical solutions stated that the promotion of Cook, 54, is an acknowledgement of his leadership, and its confidence in his ability to grow the company in new and exciting ways. The company recently posted record fourth quarter and year-end net sales.
"This appointment is good news for X-Rite employees and shareholders," said Ted Thompson, chairman of X-Rite, Incorporated. "Rich has accomplished the delicate task of reorganizing an already successful company to meet the needs of ever changing markets with great agility. I congratulate him on a job well done, and anticipate great things from him in the future."
Cook joined X-Rite's board of directors in 1997, and was appointed as its president and chief operating officer in 1998. Prior to joining X-Rite, he served as the president of Michigan-based Cascade Engineering. Cook has a BS in Physics from the University of Michigan, and a Masters of Management from Aquinas College. He and his wife Marilyn are the proud parents of two married daughters and have three grandchildren. They are both active in the community and support many charitable endeavors.
