Joseph V. Vittoria Appointed Chairman of Puradyn; Soros Group Increases Investment in the Company
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla.--Feb. 8, 2000--Richard C. Ford, CEO of Puradyn Filter Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: PFTI), today announced the appointment of Joseph V. Vittoria as Chairman of the Company. Mr. Vittoria is presently Chairman and CEO of The Travel Company, a new public company. From 1987 to 1997, he served as Chairman and CEO of Avis, Inc. and was President and COO of that company for the five prior years.In announcing the appointment, Mr. Ford said, "Mr. Vittoria is a strategic addition to the Company. He has had extensive experience in industry and has also been lauded for his many fine contributions in the public service sector. We are pleased to have him as a member of our team."
Mr. Vittoria stated, "The Puradyn(TM) On-Board Oil Refiner has a record of proven performance and is a product that has been long needed for environmental and natural resource conservation. When this product becomes recognized on a wide scale it could practically eliminate waste oil and the need for imported oil. In a recent filing with the SEC it was disclosed that a group led by investor George Soros, increased its investment in the Company to 43.8%, up from 37.5% in January 1998.
Puradyn Filter Technologies, Inc. manufactures and markets the Puradyn(TM) On-Board Oil Refiner, a unit that continuously purifies lubricating oil and greatly reduces (or eliminates) the necessity for oil changes. The refiner also extends the useful life of the equipment. The Puradyn system is effective for internal combustion engines, hydraulic applications and automatic transmissions in the automotive, transportation, construction, marine, agriculture, mining, military and power generating industries.
