AMA: Buell steps up to AMA Pro Thunder Series Entitlement

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The Buell Motorcycle Company has taken title sponsorship of the 2000 AMA Pro Thunder Championship, which runs as part of the AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship Series. The Buell Pro Thunder Series features the best of single-, twin- and triple-cylinder motorcycles, in an exciting road racing contest. The popular series has attracted a unique mix of racers, who bring sportbike experience and multi-brand diversity to the series. "Buell is very excited to sponsor the AMA Pro Thunder Series this season", said Eric Buell, the original founder of the Buell brand. "We've been active participants in the series from the beginning and it has been a great experience. Not only do we love the competition, we enjoy the participants and the fans who turn out for the AMA events. 2000 is going to be another great year for Buell and AMA Pro Thunder Racing." As the Pro Thunder title sponsor, Buell will post $10,000 in rider bonus awards to be paid out to top riders in the final Buell Pro Thunder Championship standings.
