Collins & Aikman Announces R & D AppointmentsTROY, Mich., Feb. 4 -- Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced a series of personnel appointments in conjunction with the company's continued expansion of its leading-edge research and development activities. Duane Poliquin has been named Development Manager - Door Trim for the Plymouth, Michigan technology center. He has more than 12 years experience in automotive interior trim systems. Poliquin holds a bachelor's degree in Polymer Science from Penn State University. Also at the Plymouth, Michigan technology center, Frank Olejniczak has been named Development Manager - Consoles and Instrument Panels. Olejniczak has more than 12 years experience in automotive polyurethane and thermoplastics development. He holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University and is currently working toward his MBA. Tom Gehring has been named Development Manager - Air Conditioning Outlets and Cupholders. He is assigned to Collins & Aikman's Scarborough, Ontario, Canada technology center. Gehring has more than 15 years experience in thermoplastics design, tooling and manufacturing and holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto. Commenting on the appointments, Edward L. Kowalski, Vice President of Plastics Technology stated, "The appointments of Gehring, Olejniczak and Poliquin will strengthen our automotive interior innovation capabilities.
