Sales Momentum Continues In Toyota's Cincinnati Region
    CINCINNATI, Feb. 4 -- Toyota's Cincinnati Region posted car
sales in January of 6,067 vehicles, an 8 percent increase over January 1999
when sales totaled 5,640.  Combined car and truck sales totaled 7,314, a 26
percent increase over 6,629 vehicles sold in January 1999.
    "Our North-American built Toyota Avalon and Sienna contributed to the
Region's sales increases," said Mike Reding, general manager of the Cincinnati
Region.  "Avalon posted a 71 percent increase, and Sienna a 19 percent
increase.  The new redesigned Celica had sales of 390, a whopping 851 percent
over the 41 units sold last January."
    Toyota trucks, Tacoma and Tundra, had combined sales of 1,247, over total
sales of 989 sold last year, posting a 106 percent increase.
    "The Cincinnati Region dealers had a great year and are anticipating
continuing sales increases in the new millennium," Reding added.  "They plan
to carry the momentum over into 2000."
    The Toyota Cincinnati Region includes 118 dealers in Ohio, Kentucky,
Tennessee and the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.
